We lead leadership development programs where Haitian immigrant youth can connect to their culture through advocacy and organizing, monthly forums, literacy circles, radio, girl groups, and Haitian cultural dance.
Flanbwayan partners with local schools and cultural organizations to strengthen relationships between immigrant communities and schools while advocating for education equity. Current partners are: Clara Barton High School; Emma Lazarus High School; Manhattan Comprehensive Day and Night High School; Lower East Side Preparatory High School; Brooklyn International High School; International High School at Prospect Heights.
We work with NYC schools and community organizations to wrap immigrant youth in support that doesn’t end at the dismissal bell.
